Dr Fat Beams Review

I have a set of these on my alder rosewood j bass.

They have a nice balanced response not overly bright but very present even volume across the strings. Similar to the hi beams smoother and fatter. They are just a little thicker down low. I m not a fan of dr strings for this reason.

If you play 4 string this is not a concern. String life is about average compared to other brands. They have an exceptional low e string that just rings feels and sounds fantastic. Fat beams are the signature string of innovative world class bassist marcus miller.

Similar to the hi beams smoother and fatter. They are steel roundwound and have a round core. I like them slightly better than hi beams. I m mostly a finger player as opposed to a slapper but if you need to pop the response stays even.

The a d and g strings are very close to dr hi beams in feel and tone but with a slightly looser feel. I play metal country jazz blues classic rock the list goes on and these strung up to a jazz bass are as ive said the best there is out there hands down.
