I have a set of these on my alder rosewood j bass.

They have a nice balanced response not overly bright but very present even volume across the strings.
Similar to the hi beams smoother and fatter.
They are just a little thicker down low.
I m not a fan of dr strings for this reason.
If you play 4 string this is not a concern.
String life is about average compared to other brands.
They have an exceptional low e string that just rings feels and sounds fantastic.

I like them slightly better than hi beams.
I m mostly a finger player as opposed to a slapper but if you need to pop the response stays even.
The a d and g strings are very close to dr hi beams in feel and tone but with a slightly looser feel.
I play metal country jazz blues classic rock the list goes on and these strung up to a jazz bass are as ive said the best there is out there hands down.
