Displayport To Hdmi Cable Not Working

Not sure where to even start but the connection is not being detected by the computer or the monitor.

I was able to replicate this problem with several hdmi cables. Hdmi can t carry displayport signal and a plain cable can t convert signals. I have been able to get certain hardware to work with windows 10 operating system even though this hardware was older or that it was not officially. If you haven t already swap out your hdmi cable for a hi speed hdmi cable with a speeds of at least 10 2 gbps but preferably 18 gbps.

However keep in mind you may not be able to fix your displayport to hdmi not working problem. It seemed to work only sporadically. No signal is detected on the tv. If you have an hdr enabled device such as a uhd blu ray player or streaming device connected to an hdr compatible tv it s possible that the tv is not recognizing the hdr encoded content.

Displayport to hdmi adapter does not work jump to solution the cable i bought is a black standard displayport dp to hdmi 1 4 adapter with audio support 3d for ati my monitor is a dell p2210 my idea was to connect my playstation 4 slim pro to the monitor. The displayport provides 3 3v dc power on pin 20. I suppose an hdmi to dvi cable would work unless you need the dvi port on the display for something else. Computer is a dell precision 5510.

Not really what you want in an adapter as the picture disappears once you stop applying pressure. Most displayport cables do not have this pin or it is not connected inside the cable because it will cause a short circuit when connecting source to sink. I ve tried updating the intel drivers and i even just bought an active displayport to hdmi adapter to make sure it s not the passive cable. An hdmi cable is going to my pc monitor which works and a displayport to hdmi cable to my tv for xbmc.

I eventually figured out that the connection is successful only if a significant amount of pressure is applied to the hdmi displayport connection.
