The folks from the environmental risks and breast cancer project at vassar college shared this recipe for the use of borax as a carpet stain remover.
Diltuing borax to spray on rugs.
Rub the paste onto the stain and let sit for a few hours.
Be sure to label the spray bottle.
Dissolve boric acid powder in warm water to make your own weedkiller spray.
Use a scrub brush or sponge to gently scrub excess borax from the area.
Put on protective gloves.
Then spray the solution on any area affected by mildew odor completely.
Let the solution sit on the surface for 3 5 minutes.
Sprinkle the borax powder liberally in areas of major flea infestation you can use a stiff brush to ensure that the powder penetrates deep in the carpets.
Mix 10 ounces of boric acid powder into 1 2 cup of warm water and stir the mixture until all.
Leave the borax on the carpet for at least 6 hours or even up to 2 days longer the better do not allow kids and pets on the treated areas during this time.
Although boric acid is less toxic than many commercial bug killers it is still harmful if swallowed or ingested in large doses.
Make a paste using cup salt cup borax and cup of vinegar.
Spray the mixture directly onto the floor countertop or wherever the ants are visible if you prefer.
Use caution when spraying the solution onto surfaces.
